Fighting
All fights (kumite) are conducted in a safe, respectful and courteous manner. Blows are delivered with restraint, to avoid injury, and fighters must adjust to their opponents’ level of experience. Fighting equipment must be worn up to brown belt level
Technical Training
There are several ways to improve combat techniques. We use the punching bag or pads held by a partner, allowing for the repetition of movements without the risk of injury. Speed, precision, and striking power are gradually developed and become second nature over time
Kihon
The technical exercises of karate are called kihon. It is the ABC of this discipline. Kihon consists of blocks and strikes executed with the arms or legs. Through the practice of kihon, the karate practitioner will master the basic movements of karate and develop execution speed.
Katas
In martial arts instruction, katas hold significant importance as they allow students to apply the techniques learned in kihon. Students learn to execute strikes and blocks with their arms and legs while incorporating movements and changes in direction.
